Live from a branch library on Pelham Road, Greenville

Quickly, quickly-

I'm under a time limit (15 minutes)...

Past few days have been a whirlwind of car trips, business cards, cell phone messages, and sudden, drastic, changes in plans.

Sunday night, I got lost in Gastonia on my way to corporate apartment. Had to enlist Papa Bear and C-Kitty for navigational assistance. Had the place to myslef, though. Store-bought sushi, too, which probably tasted better at the time than it should have.

Monday, I get to Belmont, and quickly discover that they were not ready for me. Where else did they think I was going on 6/20? I have no idea. They sat me with some folks in FPS support to kill some morning time, then sent me to HR to fill out forms. As soon as I was done there, they told me, Hey, guess what, yer goin to Greer...right now...keep in mind that I thought I was to remain at the Gastonia apt until 6/24.

I drive down to Greer, grab an Arby sammich, and head to the Honeywell plant. No expectations to see me there, so I just sat and watched.

Tuesday, I came back to Honeywell, found out early that I would probably be going to some unnamed other plant at some unconfirmed date and time. So I sat, watched, waited, got taken out to Tex-Mex, and then, late in the day, found out that I was needed in Asheville. For the rest of this week and all of the next.

Wednesday, still unsure where I would be sleeping for the next 10 days, I hit the road to Asheville. Interstate ll the way. Visited an aerospace company there and met a nice guy named Lenn, who is in charge of the tool crib. He needed help labeling and organizing multiple cabinets full of industrial tooling (reamers, bits, etc). Unfortunately, I know jack squat about industrial tooling, so he spent a good portion of the day just getting me to a point where I understood what he needed for me to do. Still, I must have made a good impression, because he took me out to eat. Received word later in the day that I would NOT be staying in Asheville, but that I would be issued a rental car. Chrysler Sebring. Gold. Pimptastic!!!

So, I'm back in Greenville now, tooling around in my pimp-mobile, looking for some falafel.

I guess I'm having fun, but I sure do miss Chauntelle. This all would be so much funnier if she were here to share it with me.

I guess that's all from Pelham Road. Love from me to all a yuns...
