Gone Daddy Done
(Ah, Gordon Gano...)
Well, today was my last day at Young Touchstone, and I can't figure out whether it does or does not feel like I worked there for five years. When I think "five years", it just seems like such a big chunk of time. I wasn't even 30 yet when I started now, and now I'm on my way to 34, and it just seems so strange, because it really doesn't seem like that much time has gone by.
So I sit here, just a little bit drunk, feeling just a little bit sad to be leaving a job I didn't really like. And I know that when I am finally gone from West Tennessee, I will be a little sad about that, too, even though I've been wanting to leave now for about 4 years. I guess I get to be a little sad. I will miss my co-workers, and I guess, in strange ways, I'll miss West Tennessee, too.
Oh, but Cackalacka! I hear ya callin'. I wonder, when we live in Greenville, just an hour or so from the Blue Ridge, if Chauntelle will let me call her my "mountain mama"? Take me home, country roads...
