I saw my first dead 'dillo of the season today. At least, I think it was a dead armadillo. It very easily could have been an armadillo-sized pile of corned beef hash, garnished with armadillo tail, left on the side of the road near a construction site. But, probably not.

Can't believe I'm 40--how did that happen? Have a life I'm very proud of--Mommy to Noah and can't believe he'll be 5 in June (2011); wife to Patrick (together 16 years this May 2011), a great husband & father; and have the amazing fortune to be able to look back on all my mistakes and see how I've grown and learned from them. I may not always succeed, but I get back up! I love to write in this blog, but don't get the chance to do it as often as I'd like. I hope people enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy typing up the random things that pop into my head!

I saw the same one....he was a big 'un, too! That was not MY first 'dillo of the season. I saw my first 'dillo of the season a while back, while taking a back road into work, near Pinson. I think there needs to be a celebration--forget the forsythias! Forget the dogwoods! A Dead Dillo is the sure sign that summer is on the way....doesn't make for as pretty of a Festival. But think of the t-shirt possibilities!

Must be so, so very hard to be so smart. How do you manage??? Maybe instead of armadillos, the coming of summer can be foretold by the emergence of smart asses.

Mama Possum just wanted to wade in concerning the mysteries that surround this time of the year. In addition to Stephen's amazing deduction that it seems to be getting warmer,I've noticed that the days appear to be getting longer!! It is a little scary to notice that the sunset last night was later in the evening than the one the night before. My belief is that there appears to be some similar thing happening there...hmmm
